William Ross “Dub” McQuay, of Honey Grove, Texas, was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas on October 30, 1935. He passed away at his home on January 4, 2024, at the age of 88. He loved his family and liked telling jokes and stories. He enjoyed the outdoors, music and was a long-time farmer in Arkansas and Texas.
W.R. is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Bagwell McQuay; parents Ludie Kenneth and Viola L. McQuay; siblings Vernice Darlene Kelly, Buela McQuay, Connie Rooks, Kenneth L. McQuay, and Douglas McQuay of Arkansas; grandson Johnny R. McQuay; daughter-in-law Sandra McQuay of Texas; and great granddaughter Taylor Clay of Oklahoma.
He is survived by his sons and daughters, Ross (Sharon) McQuay; Kenneth R. McQuay of Texas; Deborah (Mike) Plew; Greg (Kim) McQuay of Oklahoma; Vickie (Rick) Nelson of Arkansas; 15 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren; sisters Annabel Lowery, Wanda Powers, Sherry Deathridge and a brother, Philip McQuay of Arkansas.
