Shirley Ann Scott, 70, of Commerce, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 in Greenville. She was born on January 21, 1947 in Foreman, Arkansas, the daughter of William David Miller and Julia Ann Whisenhunt Miller. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Commerce Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Rosemound Cemetery.
Shirley was born and raised in Foreman, Arkansas. She attended high school in the nearby community of Winthrop. She later attended East Texas State University, where she earned her BA degree in Fine Arts. Shirley enjoyed painting as her preferred medium. She enjoyed clothing and was an avid shopper. She enjoyed her grandchildren a great deal, spending time talking on the phone with them. Her family was a high priority and she spent a lot of time with them.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Ronald; her children, Carol Jones-Smith and husband, Jeff; and stepson, Anthony Scott; grandchildren, Levi Horner and wife, Joanna; Bo Horner and wife, Breann; Dillon Jones and wife, Shelby; Destinee` Mondragon and husband, Omar, and Haylee Jones; great grandchildren, Harper Horner, Brantley Jones, Kinsley Jones, Sophia Mondragon, Camila Mondragon and Max Mondragon; her mother, Julia Miller and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Miller; son, Darrell Jones, brothers, Tommy Miller, Charles Miller and David Miller and her sister, Janie LeFlore.
