Sharon Barker Boggs

Sharon Lynne Barker Boggs passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025 in Genolier, Switzerland at the age of 72 following a six-year battle with cancer.

She was born on February 17, 1952, in Dallas, Texas to Tommy Morris Barker and Patricia Rowe Barker. Sharon married her high school classmate John Dalgus Boggs on November 3, 1979 in Dallas, where they raised three sons before relocating to Geneva, Switzerland in 1991.

Sharon’s life was defined by her steadfast dedication to those she loved and her community. An active and valued volunteer at her sons’ schools and scout groups, Sharon also served on the Session of Grace Presbyterian Church of Arlington, Texas as well as the Vestry of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Geneva. In addition to volunteering, Sharon worked as an administrative assistant at both the Australian Mission and the International Air Transport Association. Sharon also continued her passion for helping others by working as a certified life coach.

She spent her later years with John enjoying the serene beauty of the Swiss countryside from their home in Marchissy, Switzerland, where they celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in 2024.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her husband, John; three sons Colin Dalgus Boggs of Boulder, CO, Graham Barker Boggs of Palm Coast, FL, and Evan Andrew Boggs of Austin, TX; and grandson William ‘Liam’ John Dalgus Boggs of Boulder, Colorado. Sharon's strength, kindness, and generosity of spirit will forever be remembered by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Sharon will be laid to rest at a graveside service on Monday, February 24, 1:00 pm central time. The service and burial will be at Sonora Cemetery, 6639 CR 4705 in Fairlie, Texas, with a reception following at Commerce Funeral Home in Commerce, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Cancer Support Switzerland or another cancer support/research charity of your choosing.
