Ronald Ray Parsons, 80, of Klondike, Texas, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 in Paris, Texas. He was born on April 13, 1935 in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of Russell Roosevelt Parsons and Thelma Myrtle Berry Parsons.
Ronnie was born in West Virginia, but got to Texas as fast as he could, according to his wife, Betty. He led a very active life during his retirement. He enjoyed working on his property, especially taking care of his many chickens. He sold eggs to several people on a regular basis. He also enjoyed building things. He was a welder for several years, which led him to making several things using that skill. He also enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Commerce. He attended faithfully up until the Sunday before his death.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Betty; his children, Johnny Lomas (Mary Kay), Elsa Greer (Dwayne), Gary Parsons (Brenda), David Parsons (Debra), Rodney Parsons, David Ermel and Jonathan Ermal; siblings Charles Parsons and wife, Caroline of Aurora, IL, Delbert Parsons and wife, Bonnie of Melbourne, FL, Herbert Parsons and wife, Lou of Klondike, TX, Paul Parsons and wife, Doe of Charleston, WV, Kenneth Parsons and wife, Vicki of Fairmount, IL and Patricia Evans of Boonville, IN, as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Thelma Parsons; a son, Randy Parsons and siblings Brenda Joyce Parsons and Russell Leroy Parsons.
