Rodney Lewis Lowrie

Rodney Lewis Lowrie, 55 years of age, passed away at Christus Trinity Mother Frances hospital in Tyler on Saturday, September 30, 2023.   He was born in Klondike, TX to Velma Jeanine Roundtree and Anson Reese Lowrie, Sr.  A visitation will take place on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Commerce Funeral Home.   Graveside service is scheduled for Friday, October 6, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Cumby.

Rodney attended Cumby High School and was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church.  He served in various youth ministries and impacted many young lives for Christ.

Before his health declined, Rodney was dedicated to his job as a security guard for Chickasaw Nation.  In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering with old cars as a self-taught mechanic.

Left to cherish Rodney’s memory are his father, Anson Reese Lowrie, Sr.; brothers Anson Reese Lowrie, Jr., Kenneth Patrick Lowrie, and James Daniel Lowrie; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephew, and many friends.

Greeting him in Heaven were his mother, Velma Jeanine Lowrie, and brother, Jimmy Don Lowrie.

Serving as Pallbearers are Josh Lowrie, Greg Wesley, Jr., Josh Lunsford, Matt Lunsford, Dakota Baker, Gary Roundtree, and Ray Hunter.
