Rhonda Carol Cook, 58, of Cooper, TX passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at the home of her parents, Richard and Mary Miller, after a long battle with cancer. The angels in heaven were rejoicing as another child of God was taken home and set free from pain. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairlie. Interment will immediately follow at Stewart Cemetery in Campbell.
Left to mourn Rhonda's passing is her precious husband, Ben, whom she married on July 11, 1988; her son, Chad Miller and his wife, Sherry; daughter, Courtney Cook and friend, Kerwin Hayes; parents, Mary and Richard Miller; sisters, Nell Miller, and Jennifer Speight and husband Robby; brother, Richard Miller and wife, Aimee; sister-in-law, Alanna Cook; nieces, Morgan Guinessey, Bailey Guinessey, Gabby Speight, Graelyn Miller; nephews, Tavyn Guiterrez, and Nolan, Joey, and Paul Martin; and step grandchildren Miclo McDaniel, Joseph Ochoa, and Renesmee Hayes. She is also survived by her aunts, Joan Medlen, Mae Johnson, Valeria Carter, and Margret Debord.
She was preceded in death by her in-laws, Arlene and Ben Cook, her grandparents, Marvin and Bernice Keelin, and Fredrich and Glenna Miller.
Rhonda has been the PEIMS clerk at Commerce Middle School for the past eight years, and until she was diagnosed with cancer, she hadn’t missed a single day of work for seven years. She was a beloved friend to all she worked with and will be sorely missed by all at CMS.
Rhonda graduated from Commerce High School in 1984, where she had been very active in Future Homemakers of America and was the president of FHA her senior year.
She loved collecting vintage glass and making the glass into lovely yard art. Many of the teachers at CMS own flowers made from that vintage glass. She sold those flowers, hummingbird feeders, and birdfeeders at shows all over the area. She would find the glass at garage sales and estate sales that she and Ben would visit every weekend.
Rhonda was saved as a teenager, and you could never find anyone who exhibited the kindness and love of Jesus better than she did. She will be missed and always loved by her family and friends.
