Phillip David Strong, 77, died on Thursday, April 1, 2021 in Greenville, Texas. He was born on August 14, 1943 in Dallas, Texas, the son of David Arthur Strong and Wilma Joyce Beavers Strong. A memorial service to honor Phillip took place on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Commerce Funeral Home in Commerce, Texas.
Phillip attended high school in Dallas, Texas, graduating in 1961. Following high school, he attended Tyler Junior College for several semesters. Phillip enlisted in the United States Navy. He had several varied interests which filled his spare time. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time fishing and sports of any kind. He was a faithful Cowboys fan, always cheering them on in good times and bad. He was an avid animal lover. He had a special dog named Chelsea. It was a difficult loss when she passed away after a long, happy life. He had a special bond with his grandson, Ethan, and enjoyed spending time talking with him about various topics.
Phillip is survived by his son, Phillip Aaron Strong and wife, Lucina; grandchildren, Maya Strong and Ethan Strong and brothers, Jim Strong, Bo Strong and Scott Strong.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Wilma Strong.
