Owen William Hooten, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in Dallas, TX. He was born on July 4, 1933 in Cooper, TX to Owen and Lois Good Hooten. He graduated from Cooper High School in 1950 and from the University of Texas in Austin in 1957 with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree. His last 30 years of employment were with HKS Architects, and he retired in 1998 as Senior Vice President. He was a member of East Dallas Christian Church since 1965 serving as Elder and Chairman of the Church Property Department. He is survived by his wife Carol Sue Bolger Hooten. They were married on March 5, 1960 at First Baptist Church of Cooper, TX. Owen is survived by daughter Gwyn Hooten Beaird (Bob) of Collierville, TN, son Greg Hooten (Kathleen) of Commerce, TX, grandchildren Austin Beaird (Julie) of Ringgold, GA, Jacqueline Beaird Cochran (Thomas) of Knoxville, TN and Luke Hooten of Houston, TX, great-granddaughters Sophia Rose Cochran and Emma Claire Beaird, sister Helen Hooten Hillbish and nieces Pam Hillbish Daniel and Holly Hillbish Hubbard (John) A memorial service will be held July 2, 2022 at East Dallas Christian Church at 2pm. Visitation preceding at 1pm. Interment at Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper, Texas at 6pm. The family requests that in remembrance of Owen, please donate to charity of your choice.
