Monty Neal Wyse, 67, of Commerce, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018. He was born in Wauseon, Ohio on December 30, 1950, the son of Marvin Arthur Wyse and Lavonia Jean Gleason Wyse. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Commerce Funeral Home in Commerce. The funeral will be on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Monty attended high school in Archbold, Ohio, graduating in 1968. After high school, he joined the United States Army in 1970. He served with the Army Rangers in the Viet Nam conflict. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Monty attended East Texas State University, earning his BA degree in computer science in 1972. While attending college, Monty was active in Sigma Phi Epsilon. Monty married Mary Lynn Dishongh on May 2, 1989 at the First United Methodist Church in Commerce, Texas. He possessed great skill working with electronics. He worked with the Commerce Independent School District as the Director of Computer Services for many years, retiring in 2009.
Monty is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Mary; his children, Robert Gates and Lisa Rains (Scott); his sisters, Natalie Brillhart (Jerry), Connie Geer (Ralph) and Lynn Speziale (Jim); grandchildren Sierra Holly and Daniel Ryan, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Monty in death were his parents, Marvin and Lavonia Wyse and a sister, Kim Liberty.
Serving as casket bearers for Monty will be Robert Gates, Scott Rains, Jake Akers, James Akers, Hank Horton and Mario Sauceda.
