Lucille Simmons, 81, of Honey Grove, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in Honey Grove. She was born in Gadsden, Alabama on October 3, 1934, the daughter of Wilburn and Bertha Hammack.
Ms. Simmons lived in Attalla, Alabama most of her life. She then moved to Ladonia, Texas in 2006. She lived at the Honey Grove Nursing Center for the last six years of her life.
Ms. Simmons is survived by her daughter, Deborah Hafley of Altoona, Alabama; sister, Patsy Johnston and husband, George; niece, Ashlea Johnston, all of Honey Grove, Texas; niece Brandy Hammack of Sulphur Springs, Texas; nephew, Terry Hammack of Waco, Texas; great nieces and nephews, Lauren Burgess, Garrett, Wyatt, Sawyer, Caleb Runyan all of Sulpher Springs and Christian, Madison and Kyle Hammack of Waco, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Simmons, who passed away on January 17, 1989 in Gadsden, Alabama and her son, Dennis Simmons, who passed away on February 8, 2006 in Gadsden, Alabama; her father, Wilburn Hammack; mother, Bertha Hammack; sister, Dorothy Hammack McKinney and her brothers, William (Billy) Hammack and Jimmie Hammack.
