Larry Wayland Myers, a resident of Tyler, TX and formerly a Commerce resident, passed away at Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler following a lengthy illness.
As a boy, Larry grew up on a farm and learned the value of working the land. He attended Commerce High School, graduating with the class of 1969. Upon his graduation, Larry enjoyed a career in welding. He was also a handyman and could fix almost anything! Larry was most recently employed at L3 until his health issues made it difficult for him to continue working.
Ask anyone, and they will tell you that Larry had a heart of gold! He was always willing to help anyone in need and did so often. He loved to help people.
Larry loved fishing and spending time in his boat. He would choose a calm spot on the water and just admire God’s creation.
Left to cherish Larry’s memory is a host of friends and family who will miss him dearly, including his four-legged friend and partner, Bubba the Chihuahua.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Commerce High School FFA scholarship created in Larry's memory. You can mail your donation for the scholarship to Commerce High School FFA, 3800 Sregit Dr., Commerce, TX 75428. Please be sure to notate in the memo section that it is for the Larry Myers scholarship.
