Larry Dale Bell, 71, currently living in Commerce, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 in Dallas. He was born April 5, 1950 in Paris, TX, the son of Thomas Clyde Bell and Willie Jo (Stewart) Bell. Larry attended W. W. Samuel in Dallas, Texas in 1966-1967 and graduating at Commerce High School, with the class of 1968. Attending Texas A&M Commerce, and working in Commerce, he soon married Jan Roberts Bell on January 28, 1972. Larry worked in the Manufactured Housing Industry living in Commerce, Ft. Worth, Newark, Justin and Kemp Texas. Most of his career, he was serving as Purchasing Manager and General Manager at Champion Mobile Homes, Cavalier, Town and Country, Legacy Homes and was the currently General Manager at New Vision Mfg, LLC in Madill, OK.
Larry enjoyed the outdoors the most as he was an avid Hunter, Fisherman and self-taught Golfer. More exciting overtime, he found that watching, recording and tracking deer and other animals was more rewarding. It was another skill set as he challenged himself to follow the animals without being heard, seen or sensed as he watched and learned more in their own natural habitat. While in High School and after graduation, he was in a band that played most every weekend as the Key Board Player (as a talented Piano player) and traveled throughout several states. He mentioned that they were gone SO much, that he was unable to attend in High School functions; performing elsewhere during his own prom. Larry was very talented as he had Perfect Pitch and played by ear without any formal training. After finding out that Blue Birds were Ag Exempt, he took an interested in drawing them into his back yard through building the perfect box for them; successful to have several families occupy their new homes and enjoyed watching them. Larry’s expertise in the music area, had him drawn to band performances where ever they may be. Upon acquiring some acreage and heavy equipment, Larry spent days clearing the property for a planned project.
Larry is survived by his brother Ronald Bell of Irving Texas, David Bell of McKinney, Texas, Bridgett Brower of Commerce, Texas. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Doyle Shaw and three grandchildren, Jessica Leanne Webb, Kasey Sperry, Cody Shaw and their children. He had a brother-in-law, John Roberts and wife of Eve, of Decatur, Texas and another brother-in-law, Larry Richardson of Gainsville, Texas.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Jo Bell, his wife, Jan Roberts Bell, and his daughter Melody Shaw.
