Joseph Caesar Ortega passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020. He was born February 27, 1983 in Dallas, Texas.
Joseph had many interests. He loved to fish and did so as often as he could when he was not working. He was a good cook and especially enjoyed cooking for others. Joseph was very skilled at working with his hands. He used that talent to work toward realizing his dream of becoming an accomplished carpenter and contractor. He was also very creative and loved to draw. His artistic creations were very expressive and thought-provoking. He brought great joy to his mother, Mary, when he would drop by for a visit, and stay to watch movies with her. Though his time here was short, he will not be forgotten.
He is survived by his grandmother, Beatrice Garcia; his mother, Mary Garcia Ebarb and step-father, Willie Ebarb, of Commerce; his 10 year old son, Xavier Nehemiah Ortega, Xavier's half sisters, Savanna and Sierra, and their mother Sandra Jesttes; brother, Adolph Ortega; and sisters, Arlene Ortega of Rockwall, and Elizabeth Caballero and husband, Omar, of Dallas and his father, Adolph Ortega, Sr. Also surviving Joseph are nieces Abigail and Skye Caballero and Ailani Valdez and nephews, Levi Caballero and Isaiah Ramirez. Joseph was preceded in death by his grandfather, Juan Garcia.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of Christ in Commerce, Texas on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 1 p.m. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Adolph Ortega, Willie Ebarb, Dakota Halbrook, Rodney King and Isaiah Ramirez.
