Harold D. Arrington

August 13, 1935 — April 3, 2013

Harold Arrington, beloved Husband, Father, and Grand-Father passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 3, 2013 in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Harold was born August  13, 1935 in Fairlie, Texas to William Grady and Martha Lona (McCool) Arrington.    A lifelong resident of Commerce, Texas, he married Zoie Oleta Haddock in February 1954 in his parent's home.

Harold and Oleta had three children  Pam, Patti, and Brad Arrington.  He started Arrington Concrete Construction in 1966 and worked independently, well into 2012.  He employed many young men throughout his career and most of those will say it was the hardest work they've ever done.

Harold was an avid Commerce Tiger supporter, rarely missing a Friday night Commerce football game.  He was an accomplished hunter, and loved sports.  For years, the Arrington Construction softball team dominated the fields in and out of Hunt county.  He collected Dodge trucks and Longhorn cattle.

He was most proud of being a grand-father.  He would take the grand-kids everywhere including to feed the ducks, ride the tractor or teach them to drive on the golf cart.
Harold was preceded in death by his father Grady Arrington, brother Milford Arrington, mother Martha Arrington and several beloved sister and brother in-laws.

Harold is survived by his wife of 59 years, Oleta Arrington; children Pam and Monty Webb, Patti and Mack Doster all of Commerce, TX, Brad and Michiel Arrington of Wylie, TX.  PePa to grandkids-De'An, Kindra, Trey, Shea, Dakotah, Ethan, and Logan and many other family members-sister and brother in laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Special thanks to Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab as well as Hospice Plus for their care and support during this time.
