Gerald “Wayne” McCasland, 78, died peacefully in Nocona, Texas on Monday, August 7, 2017. Wayne was born at home in the Hendrix Community outside of Caddo Mills, Texas on December 3, 1938, the son on R.H. “Mac” and Billie McCasland.
Wayne graduated from Commerce High School. He worked as a civil engineer for the city of Garland, Texas for over 30 years. For many years after his retirement, he enjoyed working and living on his farm in Commerce, Texas. Wayne will be remembered by his family and friends as kind, gentle, quiet and genuine.
Wayne is survived by his daughter, Kim Miller and husband, Jamey, of Fort Worth, Texas, his son, Russell McCasland of Nocona, Texas; grandchildren Emily Wardlaw and husband, Aaron of Fort Worth, Texas, Matthew Miller of San Antonio, Texas and Riley McCasland, Landry McCasland and Brady McCasland of Nocona, Texas; his brother, Wesley McCasland of Troupe, Texas, and his sister, Lynda Horn of Fairlee, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.H. “Mac” and Billie McCasland of Commerce, Texas.
