George Michael Salazar, Sr., of Ladonia, died at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 31, 2020. He was born on May 21, 1947 in Los Angeles, California to his parents, Jose Salazar and Jessie Castro Salazar.
George attended high school at Garfield High School in Los Angeles, California, graduating in 1965. While in high school, he was active as a percussionist in the band. He also played in a band called The Midnites. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1966. While enlisted, he served as a radio operator. After two years of faithful service, George was honorably discharged in 1968. George worked for FedEx as a driver for many years. He continued to pursue his passion for music all his life. He formed many bands and served as a producer in the industry. George married the love of his life, Lisa Roe, on March 21, 1994. They enjoyed 26 years together. He was known as a man who would do anything in his power for people who had a need. He will be missed by many.
George is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his children, George Salazar, Jr., Brandi Salazar, Nicole Salazar, Georgina Salazar, Garritt Salazar, Sandra Mitts and Lisa Mitts; 15 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren; siblings, Refugio Salazar, Jerry Salazar, Joe Salazar, Tony Salazar, Helen Valensuela and Rachel Estrada
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Jessie Salazar, sister, Vera Salazar and sister, Theresa Lugo.
