Doile Lee McIlveene, 81, of Garland, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018. He was born in Nashville, Arkansas on April 24, 1937, the son of Doile Hampton McIlveene and Edwin Ellen Clardy.
Doile attended Oak Cliff High School in Dallas, graduating in 1955. After serving honorably in the United States Army, Doile attended North Texas State University, earning his degree in 1963.
He had a talent for football, playing in high school, college and even while he was in the Army. As a fan, he enjoyed rooting for his Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. The Cowboys and Longhorns were his 2 favorite teams, and he never missed a game! He also enjoyed playing baseball and following the Texas Ranger baseball team. Doile’s greatest pleasure was supporting his family in all their activities.
Doile is survived by his children, Jeff Gurley, Barry Gurley (Kelli) and Misti McIlveene; his grandchildren, Haley McDonald (Chase), Tyler Gurley, Madeleine Gurley and Caroline Gurley; his siblings, Jimmy McIlveene, Cathy McIlveene Hammack (Gary), Joey McIlveene (Kelley), Rusty McIlveene (Cindy) and Rodney McIlveene (Angie); his mother, Mae McIlveene; and a lifelong companion, Barbra Fine.
Doile was preceded in death by his father, Doile Hampton McIveene and a brother, Jerry Wayne McIlveene.
