Clayton Jerome Sweesy, Jr.

May 23, 1973 — May 25, 2021

Dallas

Clayton Jerome “CJ” Sweesy, Jr., 48, of Dallas, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, in Plano, Texas.  He was born on May 23, 1973, in Key West, Florida, the son of Clayton “Jerry” Jerome Sweesy, Sr. and Debi Lynn Penrod Sweesy.  Burial will take place at DFW National Cemetery on July 23, 2021, at 3:00 p.m.

CJ attended Jacksonville High School, graduating in 1992. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in February 1993 and served as a Crew Chief on the B52 Bomber at Castle AFB and Barksdale AFB until May 2000, after which he was honorably discharged.  Following his service, he committed his life to serving and protecting his community in law enforcement at Bossier City Police Department, Federal Reserve Law Enforcement and Dallas Police Department for fifteen years.  CJ always had dreams of returning to the aviation world, wanting to obtain his private pilot license to take his kids on adventures.  CJ loved and adored his babies; always wanting more for them than he had as a child.  He was always there for both of them, helping with school, goofing off, being silly, making them laugh and smile, and hugging them when they were scared.  He loved watching Peyton’s baseball and football games and taking Bailey for ice cream dates, just the two of them.  CJ loved the water and the beach; his kids are just like him in that way.   He looked forward to summer just to go to the pool or beach with them.  He taught them both how to swim and to love and appreciate the water.  CJ will be deeply missed by his children, granddaughter and many extended family and friends.

CJ is survived by his son, Peyton Cole Sweesy and granddaughter, Emersyn Claire Sweesy, his daughter, Bailey Claire Sweesy, his brother, Aaron Jerome Eddy, sister, Kelly Easton, cousin, Charlie Free and cousin, Angela Romero.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton “Jerry” Sweesy Sr., and his mother, Debi Sweesy.
