Alberta Munding

Alberta Ann Munding of Cooper, Texas, gained her wings on December 22, 2024.  A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Enloe United Methodist Church.

Alberta was born in Pataskala, Ohio on February 10, 1944 to Ernest and Orpha Moorhead.  She graduated from Watkins Memorial High School, studied cosmetology, and opened a beauty salon in Pataskala. She met and married Donald L. Munding of Glendale, California, whose job took him to Ohio.  Upon marriage, the pair moved to Thousand Oaks, California where they raised their two children.  Later in life, they moved to Texas to be closer to their daughter.

Alberta was the neighborhood "mom" although she helped run an HVAC business out of the home.  She was loving and kind, and would do anything to help her family and friends.  Those that knew Alberta, knew a woman with a generous heart.  She was a dedicated member of the Enloe Methodist Church, a Red Cross volunteer in California, and most importantly, a loyal friend, beloved mother, and grandmother who loved her grandchildren.

Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents, Ernest and Orpha; and her brother, Ernest, Jr.  She leaves behind her children, Dona Gavlick of Cooper, Texas and Sean Munding of Orinda, California.  She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Kate; granddaughter, Sophia; grandson, Leo; sister, Mary Mahorney of Coolville, Ohio; and sister, Joyce Snyder of St. Joseph, Missouri.

Alberta lived a life "well-lived".  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
